A Common Purpose is outraged at the murder of George Floyd and other BIPOCS. These senseless deaths been escalating in numbers. As BIPOCS ourselves, we have to speak out. We have to stand together across continents with the victims of murder, marginalization, and repression because of skin color.
The murder of George Floyd was the result of inhumane police brutality that is perpetuated by a culture of white supremacy and systemic racism. Today, we need to be even clearer about the urgency to take concrete steps to dismantle white supremacy in all its forms.
To do that, we are pledging to do the following:
• Support BIPOCS in their entrepreneurial and creative endeavors by providing pro bono or discounted consultancy to the best of our ability
• Provide a safe space for dialogue, artistic expression and any other community engagements
• Form coalitions across borders to uphold justice, equity and peaceful collaborations
• Say his name: George Floyd and acknowledge #BlackLivesMatter.
Please join us in A Common Purpose to work towards justice and a more perfect union.
